The rape case against Prateek Chauhan, son of Aurad BJP MLA Prabhu Chauhan, registered in Bidar women’s police station in July this year has been transferred to Upparpet police station on Saturday.
The victim from Maharashtra alleged that she was engaged to Prateek and was raped multiple times at a hotel in Bengaluru on the pretext of marriage.
“Since the woman has alleged that the first sexual assault occurred in Bengaluru, a case has been taken up here on transfer from Bidar,” the police said.
The victim filed a complaint after the accused allegedly refused to marry and threatened the victim and her family when they visited his residence to finalise the wedding date.
Based on the complaint, the police filed an FIR against Prateek Chauhan.
