As many as 43 students who completed Class X from Government schools in Nellore district received scholarships worth ₹2 lakh each from Social Empowerment and Economic Development Society (SEEDS), a voluntary organisation founded by senior bureaucrat Rami Reddy Chandramouleeswar Reddy (RCM Reddy).
At an event conducted at LEED (Local area Education and Economic Development) campus in Duttalur, scholarships worth ₹1.5 lakh each for five years were also provided to Class XI students who had applied earlier.
Mr. RCM Reddy recalled his journey as a student of Zilla Parishad High School in Duttalur and said that the scholarships played a vital role in helping him pursue studies despite hardships. With contributions from similar organisations, SEEDS has so far extended 216 scholarships worth ₹3.4 crore, he added.
