The Government Wenlock Hospital here on Sunday got its first ambulance buggy that helps to shift patients, medical records and medicines from one block to another in the hospital.
The buggy was purchased using ₹7 lakh from the Area Development Fund of Ivan D’Souza, MLC. “I am the first MLC to allow use of the Area Development Fund for purchasing a buggy for a government hospital. Wenlock is the first government hospital to make use of an ambulance buggy. If more buggies are needed for Wenlock, I am ready to fund their purchase,” Mr. D’Souza said.
Thanking Mr. D’Souza for the grant of funds, Wenlock Hospital Superintendent D.S. Shivaprakash said the ambulance buggy will be used to shift patients from the surgical block to the beds in the old block after surgery. It will also be used to take patients for CT/MRI/X-Ray/scanning from their wards.
