The Andhra Pradesh State Government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the death of three Maoists allegedly killed by the police forces in the Kintakuru encounter in the Maredumilli forest cover in Alluri Sitarama Raju district on June 18.Â
The deceased Maoists are Gajarla Ravi alias Uday, central committee member of the banned CPI (Maoist) and secretary of Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC), Raavi Venkata Chaitanya alias Aruna, south zonal committee member and wife of central committee member Chalapathi, who was killed in an exchange of fire in Chhattisgarh recently and Kovvasi Anju alias Mase of Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district.

In a public notice, Rampachodavaram sub-Collector and sub-divisional Magistrate Shubham Nokwal has directed the family members of the deceased, police officials involved in the encounter and doctors who conducted the post-mortem to attend the magisterial inquiry into the encounter on August 25.
Any member of the public will be allowed to appear for the inquiry and submit any evidence on the encounter on August 25. The inquiry will be held at the office of the sub-Collector and sub-divisional Magistrate in Rampachodavaram.Â
In the public notice, Mr. Shubham Nokwal has stated; “The public notice on the magisterial inquiry has been issued for transparency and compliance with the human rights and procedural mandates of the National Human Rights Commission and the Supreme Court.”
