Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar on Thursday (August 21) announced that HUDCO International Convention Centre will soon be established in Amaravati, marking a major milestone in the capital’s economic and business development.

The project, to be developed on 10 acres under HUDCO, has already secured preliminary approval for eight acres from the Andhra Pradesh CRDA, while clearance for the remaining land is in progress. Modeled on New Delhi’s India Habitat Centre, the upcoming facility will not only host HUDCO offices but also serve as a hub for training in housing and urban development sectors.

Planned amenities include a 2,000-seat auditorium, visual art galleries, hotel and guest houses, indoor and outdoor restaurants, cultural venues, exhibition halls, a swimming pool, and a fully equipped secretariat and documentation centre.

Dr. Pemmasani said the centre would elevate Amaravati into a national and international hub for finance, resources, and knowledge.
