MP Kanimozhi to get Periyar Award in Karur on Sept. 17

DMK Parliamentary party leader Kanimozhi will receive the Periyar Award, which is instituted by the party to honour various leaders, on the occasion of Mupperum Vizha. A press release from the DMK said the event would take place in Karur on September 17. Suba. Seetharaman, a member of the party’s audit committee and former Chairman of the Palayamkottai Municipality, will receive the Anna Award. The Kalaignar Award will go to centenarian S.M. Ramachandran, a former member of the Anna Nagar Assembly constituency. Senior party leader Kulithalai Sivaraman will receive the Paavendar Award; former MLA Marudur Ramalingam, the Perasiriyar Award; and former Minister Pongalur N. Palanisamy, the M.K. Stalin Award.
