Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade has been taking up several social welfare and community development programmes through the Rural Development and Self Employment Training initiatives for decades, educationist and JSS secretary Ajit Prasad said in Dharwad.

“Inspired by this, the JSS has been actively working to address challenges of unemployment and support economically weaker sections. Society can become sustainable only when educational institutions take social responsibility. Educational institutions should take up initiatives that are aimed at community development and student welfare,” he said.
