 As Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, along with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, launched expansion of CM’s breakfast scheme in Chennai for students from grades I to V in all government-aided primary schools in urban areas, Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration P. Moorthy launched the programme at Al-Ameen Urdu Tamil Primary Schools in Melur taluk here on Tuesday. 

In Madurai district, 60,574 students from grades I to V, studying in 1,125 schools, are currently benefiting from the breakfast scheme.  

With this expansion to aided schools, an additional 22,857 students from 131 in the urban areas would also benefit.  

A total of 83,431 students from grades 1 to 5, studying in 1,256 schools located in corporation, municipalities, and town panchayat limits would be benefitted.  

Madurai Collector K.J. Praveen Kumar was also present during the event.
