The Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchi’s social responsibility club, Elixir, in collaboration with Pranyas Foundation, has recently launched a School Redevelopment Project 2024–25.
With a total project cost of ₹12.58 lakh, the initiative is aimed enhancing the educational infrastructure of four government schools in Tiruchi, benefiting more than 1,500 students, according to a press release from IIM-Tiruchi.
Before implementation, members of Elixir visited the selected schools, interacted with stakeholders, and analysed their requirements to ensure the project’s interventions directly addressed the needs of both the students and teachers. Based on these findings, the team designed targeted upgrades to transform the overall learning environment.
The four schools covered under the initiative include the Government School in Nariyappatti, the Government Special Higher Secondary School in Mathur, the Government Higher Secondary School in Mandaiyur, and the Government High School in Neerpalani.
Implemented with the support of Rahul Sharma, Founder of Pranyas Foundation, the project focused on key developments, including the renovation of toilets to improve hygiene, renovation of classrooms to create engaging learning spaces, installation of smart classrooms to facilitate digital learning, provision of water dispensers for safe drinking water, and supply of benches to offer more comfortable seating arrangements.
