Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has laid the keel of a commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) named Pelagic Wahoo. The vessel is the second in the series being constructed for Cyprus-based Pelagic Wind Services Limited, part of Pelagic Partners.

“The vessel, with a length of 93 metres and a breadth of 19.6 metres, is constructed based on the Kongsberg UT 5520 MH design, which has been optimised to enhance safety, operability, and sea-keeping performance, while also reducing fuel consumption. The vessel can accommodate a total of 120 personnel, including windfarm technicians with DNV comfort class notations,” the CSL said in a statement. The vessel was also prepared for methanol fuel operation in the future, it said.

The keel for the vessel was laid on Monday (August 25)  by Andre Groeneveld, CEO of Pelagic Wind Services Ltd. in the presence of Pradeep Ranjan, CTO of Pelagic Wind Services Ltd., and Shiraz V.P., chief general manager (planning and project management), CSL.
