Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said here on Saturday (August 30, 2025) that Kerala needed to create a workforce environment that matched the demands of changing times.
He was speaking at the valedictory session of the Skill Kerala Global Summit organised by the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC). A release issued here quoted him as saying that the government aimed to make Kerala a hub for knowledge-driven industries.
Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal presided over the function. T.M. Thomas Isaac, former Finance Minister and Knowledge Kerala Mission advisor, said the government planned to extend skill training to homemakers, students, and unemployed professionals.
The release claimed that industry associations and organisations that included the Confederation of Indian Industries, Air Cargo Forum India, K-DISC, ICT Academy, and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry had agreed to create job opportunities for young aspirants across various sectors.
The K-DISC announced that candidates completing skill training as per employer requirements would be recruited from campuses across the State.
