Collector gives ₹1 lakh financial aid to 2 MBBS students

District Collector Rajakumari Ganiya on Tuesday (September 2, 2025) extended financial assistance of ₹1 lakh each to two students of Dr B.R. Ambedkar IIT Medical Academy, Chinnatekur, for securing seats in prestigious medical colleges in the State.

V. Pranay Babu got a seat in GMC, Anantapur, while N. Nitish Nayak secured a seat in Sri Venkateswara Medical College, Tirupati. They accompanied by their faculty members called on Ms. Rajakunari Ganiya at her chambers in the District Collectorate on Tuesday.

The students studied in Gurukul schools and then took coaching in the Academy. On the occasion, Ms. Ganiya lauded the performance of the Academy that had played a major role in the students academic performance. “The results achieved by the Academy and its students will give inspiration to others from rural background to excel in academics and achieve good results,” she said.

Assuring her support to development of education sector in the district, the Collector extended a financial assistance of ₹one lakh each to the two students for purchasing books.

In all, eight students from the Academy secured seats in MBBS, six in IIT, and 19 in NIT. “This reflects the high standards maintained by the Academy and also the hard work exhibited by the students,” the Collector said.

A.P. Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society district coordinator Dr I. Sreedevi, Chinnatekur Academy Principal Venugopal, Academy in-charge B. Umamaheshwarappa and others were also present.
