Students from schools and colleges on Wednesday took out a rally as part of a conference organised by the International Association for Religious Freedom here.
Speakers at the conference held on the theme of ‘Unity in diversity – Celebrating India’s religious harmony tradition’, including Tirunelveli MP C. Robert Bruce, former MP Vijila Sathyananth, advocate S.M. Madhivadhani, principal of St. Xavier’s College Rev. Dr. Godwin Rufus SJ, principal of St. Ignatius College of Education, Palayamkottai, Rev. L. Vasanthi Medona and organiser Rev. Giftson, stressed the need for religious freedom and communal harmony in society.
The speakers said religious harmony, which had been the tradition of the country for centuries, should be preserved and taken forward.
