Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the GST reforms with revised slabs across daily essentials, education, healthcare, and agriculture. In a message on X Wednesday night, Mr. Naidu called it a pro-poor and a growth-oriented decision that would benefit all sections, from farmers to businesses.

He congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on this transformative step, observing that the reforms mark a strategic and citizen-centric advancement of India’s tax framework, and would ensure a better quality of life for every Indian.

In a separate message, Minister for IT Minister Nara Lokesh said the GST reforms were a historic decision of the NDA government that would bring down the rates of essentials, and marked a decisive step towards a simpler, growth-oriented tax regime.

Congratulating Mr. Modi on making the landmark reform, Mr. Lokesh said, as Education Minister of A.P., he particularly welcomed the GST reduction on maps, charts, pencils, sharpeners and exercise books. It would go a long way in easing the financial  burden on families, and advance a knowledge-driven economy.

Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for bringing about the GST reforms, saying that their focus was on the people’s welfare.

He stated in the social media platform X that the GST reforms were in fulfillment of the assurance given by Mr. Modi on Independence Day to usher in the next-generation GST by reducing their burden on the common people.

Mr. Kalyan said he was especially welcoming the significant relief extended to the poor, middle class, farmers, and healthcare, along with the complete removal of GST on education and insurance that safeguard lives and empower the future of the masses. These reforms would ease the struggles of countless families.

Coming in the wake of the raising of the Income Tax exemption limit earlier this year, the GST reforms stand as a true Diwali gift to the nation, he observed.
