Two men held for attacking police personnel in Nolambur 

Two persons were arrestedfor attacking a police patrol team, when they went to look into a dispute among residents at an apartment in Nolambur.

According to the police, the residents’ welfare association of an apartment located opposite the Nolambur Police station stopped the water supply to one of the resident’s (Saravanan) house following a dispute. 

Following Saravanan’s alert, a team comprising constables Balaji and Manju were deputed. When they reached the spot, residents Chellappa and Venkateshan blocked their entry. Following a heated exchange of words, one of them attacked Balaji. 

The CCTV footage of the attack went viral on social media.Venkateshan, a PMK functionary, and Chellappa, both office-bearers of the residents’ association were arrested
