The Delhi Pollution Control Committee has floated a tender for the supply, installation and commissioning of 41 online monitoring stations (OLMS) to check the water quality of the Yamuna and major drains that flow into the river.

The OLMS will monitor parameters like the measurement of flow, the pH of the water, the biological oxygen demand (BOD), the chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS), total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), ammonium (NH4+), dissolved oxygen (DO) and temperature, as per the tender document dated August 26.

Last year, the government had plans to setup 32 such units.

The tender is for five years of operation of the OLMS. Six locations are on the river while 35 will be installed in the drains.

“The OLMS system shall be supplied with a solar system (solar Panel, battery and charge controller). The OLMS system, including all equipment, shall be operational with the solar supply,” the tender document said.
