ZRUCC member seeks special trains for Dasara festival

Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) member Kanchumurthi Eswar has appealed to the Divisional Railway Manager to consider operating special trains from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam Road to Vijayawada/Guntur during the upcoming Dasara festival season.

After the cancellation of Simhadri Express (17239/40) and the Visakhapatnam-Narsapur Fast passenger (57264/65), there is no direct train to an important town, Narsapur, which is a pilgrimage and tourist place in coastal AP.

Mr. Eswar also sought operation of special train services during ‘Bhavani Mala’ for Maa Durga Devi during the Dasara festival at Vijayawada.

These special trains will not only help in easing passenger traffic and providing comfort to devotees, but also contribute significantly to the economic growth and tourism development of Vijayawada city.
