No shortage of urea, but only distribution issues, says Chief Minister

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said sufficient stock of urea was available in the State, and the disturbances at the queues seen at the shops was due to impatient people and also those trying to instigate the farmers.

Responding to the urea shortage issue in Kamareddy on Thursday (September 04) during his visit to the flood-hit town, he said farmers were impatient as they had to wait for long hours to take the fertilizer as a large number of them were turning up at the same time. Some farmers were being misled into shortage of fertilisers further creating impatience among them.

Farmers standing in the queues for long hours are getting tired, and their situation is being used to instigate by some elements for their selfish reasons. This is leading to protests at some places, but there was no shortage of urea, he maintained.

The Chief Minister also suggested that fertilizers be also supplied through Rythu Vedikas to reduce rush at other places.

During his visit to Kamareddy that suffered huge due to heavy rains and flooding inspected the damage caused. He also interacted with the people and assured them that the government would assist them in recovery. He also asked the local leadership to record the damage and send it to officials as help could be extended after proper evaluation.

Mr. Reddy also inspected the heavy damage caused to the bridge between Lingampet and Kurdu. Later, he held a review meeting with the officials and asked them to coordinate better for early decisions. Minister Seethakka, MLAs Venkataramana Reddy and Madanmohan and senior Congress leader Shabbir Ali were present.
