Woman and her grandson electrocuted in Kunigal

A 51-year-old woman and her grandson were electrocuted in a ragi field at Chottahalli on the outskirts of Kunigal of Tumakuru district on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Latha and her 14-year-old grandson, Mohith.

According to police, Latha was living with her husband Jagadisha, daughter Roopa, son-in-law Suresh, and only grandchild Mohith.

Mohith was studying in Class 8, and did not go to school on Thursday as he was unwell. Latha, as part of her routine visit to the farm, took Mohit along as he was alone at home. The duo reached the field and accidentally touched the fence which had came in contact with a snapped electric wire. The duo was electrocuted and were killed on the spot. Passers-by alerted the family.

On information, the police went to the spot and shifted the bodies for autopsy. A case was registered, and the police have launched a probe.
