Five persons arrested for smuggling ganja

The K.K. Nagar police arrested five persons for possessing and smuggling ganja in the city on Thursday. 

The police said that, while they were involved in a routine patrol check in K.K. Nagar on Thursday, they stopped a man who looked suspicious. Upon investigation, the police found that he had ganja. Immeditely, he was taken to the police station.

A senior official of the police said that the accused, E. Kishore, works in a private company in Bangalore. He informed the police of another person, B. Karthik alias Ajith, who was part of a gang involved in the selling of ganja in Choolaimedu. The police rushed to Karthik’s residence and found nearly 8 kg of ganja.

Later, three more persons were arrested based related to the case. They were identified as J. Adhi alias Aditya, V. Udayakumar and S. Gokul. 

All of them were produced before a judicial magistrate and sent to the Puzhal prison.
