Conservancy worker rewarded by GCC for handing over lost gold chain to cops

A conservancy worker who handed over a gold chain she found during cleaning work in Adyar Zone was felicitated and awarded cash by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) on Friday.

Clara, who was on duty on East Coast Road near Marundeeswarar Temple on September 2, found the chain and immediately handed it to the Thiruvanmiyur police station.

Chennai Mayor R. Priya presented Clara with a cash award of ₹10,000 at the Ripon Building, in the presence of Chennai Corporation Commissioner J. Kumaragurubaran and other officials.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin appreciated her action, and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin invited her to his office, congratulated her and presented a reward, according to a press release.
