Another death from amoebic meningoencephalitis has been reported in Kerala.
Ratheesh, 45, a native of Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad district, who had been undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital (MCH), Kozhikode, succumbed to the infection on Saturday (September 6, 2025) morning.

Anaya, an eight-year-old native of Thamarassery, a three-month-old baby from Omassery, Kozhikode, and Ramla, a resident of Malappuram had died in the past three weeks.

At present, 11 people are undergoing treatment for the disease at Kozhikode MCH, and the condition of a few is reported to be critical.
