With about two weeks remaining for the commencement of the grand Dasara celebrations, authorities have begun the sale of gold cards — premium passes granting access to all key events and some tourist destinations — along with tickets for the much-awaited Jamboo Savari and Torchlight Parade, starting from Saturday, September 6.

For the first time in recent years, the early launch of gold cards and finale event tickets will enable tourists to plan their visit well in advance to witness the spectacle. These passes and tickets are available online at the official Dasara website https://mysoredasara.gov.in/.

The stakeholders in the tourism sector, and travel and tour operators had been demanding the early sale of gold cards to facilitate tourists to plan their visit during the time of the Dasara celebrations.

The gold card is priced at ₹6,500, while tickets for the Jamboo Savari and the Torchlight Parade are priced at ₹3,500 and ₹1,500 per person, respectively.

Apart from entry to the Jamboo Savari, the gold card grants access for one person to visit the Mysuru palace, Chamundi Hills, Mysuru zoo, the Torchlight Parade, and the Drone Show. The primary attraction for gold card holders is the prime seating in the gallery facing the palace, offering an excellent view of the Jamboo Savari procession.

Deputy Commissioner and Dasara Special Officer G. Lakshmikant Reddy urged interested individuals to take advantage of this opportunity and purchase tickets via the official website. However, the authorities have not specified the total number of gold cards and tickets available.

The press release issued by the district administration stated that gold cards and tickets were available online from 3 p.m. onwards on Saturday.

The website shared details of the seating arrangements for gold card holders and individual ticket purchasers at the palace and also at the Bannimantap Grounds — the venue of the Torchlight Parade, for the convenience of buyers.

Last year, to prevent bulk purchases for black-market resale, the district administration implemented OTP and email-based authentication during ticket purchases. This measure proved effective, ensuring fair distribution and availability of tickets even days after sales began. Additionally, the administration printed more tickets based on demand, and tickets were released daily to avoid bulk buying.

The same OTP-based system has been set up with personal details (including email address) being required for purchasing gold cards and event tickets this year, to ensure that genuine tourists have access.
