Rev. Fr. Anson P Jose, principal of Carmel Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kollampalayam, was conferred with “Dr. Radhakrishnan Award”, for the year 2024-25 on Friday (September 5, 2025).
The award, instituted by the Government of Tamil Nadu to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, is presented annually on Teachers’ Day to recognise service in the field of education. Each recipient will receive ₹10,000 in cash, a silver medal and a certificate of appreciation.
This year, a total of 386 teachers across the State were selected to receive the award. A total of 11 teachers comprising 10 teachers from government school and one teacher from private school were selected in the district. At a function held in Chennai, the principal received the award from the School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi during which Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin was present.
