Attempt at self-harm averted with timely intervention

Amid the ongoing Ganesh immersion festivities, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) personnel on duty at Dundigal pond in Medchal-Malkajgiri district rescued a man who had jumped into the water.

The man, identified as Mohammed Rahim, 35, reportedly attempted to end his life owing to family disputes. He is married and has a daughter.

On noticing the incident, the HYDRAA personnel immediately rushed to the spot and pulled him out of the pond.

Rahim was later handed over to the police in the presence of his family members. Officials said that the timely intervention of the rescue personnel ensured his safety.
