
Congress president and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge met the family members of late Sharanabaswappa Appa, the head of Sharanabasaveshwara Sansthan who recently passed away at latter’s residence in Kalaburagi on Saturday.

Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha and All India Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge, along with his wife Radhabai Kharge visited the family of late Sharanabaswappa Appa, the head of the Sharanabasaveshwara Sansthan, who recently passed away and offered his condolences on Saturday.
Recalling Appa’s immense contributions to the field of education, Mr. Kharge said that the seer had led an “alphabet revolution” in the backward Hyderabad-Karnataka, now Kalyana Karnataka, region and sustained the Sansthan’s historic tradition of Dasoha (free community feeding) for several decades.
Mr. Kharge also shared a warm interaction with Appa’s son, Chiranjivi Dodappa Appa, sitting beside him and speaking affectionately.
Ms. Dakshayini Avva, the wife of Appa, Small Scale and Public Enterprises Minister Sharanbasappa Darshanapur and others were present.
