Mavelicuz ’25 concludes with grand musical evening in Kozhikode

Mavelicuz ’25, the cultural extravaganza held across Kozhikode district over the past seven days, concluded on Sunday (September 7) with a series of musical evenings by some of the country’s leading artistes. Music director Shan Rahman led the performance at Kozhikode Beach, while singer Chinmayi Sreepada captivated audiences at LuLu Mall. Singers Abhaya Hiranmayi and Nanchiyamma drew crowds at Beypore Beach, and singers Kannur Sherif and Kollam Shafi stole the show at the Sargaalaya Arts and Crafts Village, Iringal.

The week-long festival brought together celebrity artistes from around the world, showcasing unique art forms. Among the highlights were Rajasthan’s music band ManganiyarSeduction and the Italian band Cubo, both of which wowed audiences with their distinctive performances.

Celebrated musicians such as Shaktisree Gopalan, K.S.Chitra, Raftar, Jonita Gandhi, Sid Sreeram, M. Jayachandran, Sivamani, Naresh Iyer, Sithara Krishnakumar, K.S. Harishankar, Jyotsna, Shan Rahman, Job Kurien, Sreenivas, Abhaya Hiranmayi, Rajalakshmi, Sudeep, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Bijibal, Shahbas Aman and Jassie Gift had joined the bandwagon on various days.

Popular bands such as Almaram, Sanka Tribe, Oorali, and the Qawwali Brothers set the stage ablaze, particularly for the youth. Dance icons Navya Nair, Rima Kallingal, Paris Lakshmi, and Asha Sharath also enthralled crowds with their performances.

While Kozhikode Beach, Lulu Mall, Beypore, and Sargaalaya were the main venues, cultural programmes also lit up spaces such as Town Hall, Mananchira, Kuttichira, Tali, and Bhatt Road. Events included puppetry, drama, Mudiyettu, and folk music.

A food festival, a book festival, a craft and handloom festival, an investor meet and a flower show were also part of the event. Meanwhile, major structures and public spaces in the city were illuminated, drawing a large crowd during the night.

Mavelicuz ’25 was jointly organised by the Department of Tourism, Kerala Arts and Crafts Village, and the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC).
