NIA team conducts search in Thoothukudi as part of nationwide operation

A team of officials from National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted a search in Thoothukudi on Monday (September 8. 2025), as part of the nationwide operation covering 22 locations across five states in India.

In Thoothukudi, the search was conducted at Tamil Nadu Housing Board’s apartment in Siluvaipatti under Thalamuthu Nagar police jurisdiction. The search was carried out at the residence and premises of individuals suspected of links with the anti-national networks. The operation, which began around 7 a.m., continued until 10 a.m. No arrests have been reported so far.

Sources from the police department confirmed no individuals were taken into custody and that security was provided to the NIA as part of the standard operating procedures.
