Peeved over the alleged delay in distribution of urea, angry farmers staged a dharna in front of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) centre in Rebbena mandal headquarters of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district on Monday.
Agitated farmers from various villages squatted on the main road outside the PACS centre in protest against the delay in distribution of fertilizer. The protesters raised slogans demanding prompt distribution of fertilizer as per the token system.
The aggrieved farmers accused the staff concerned of making them stand in long queues at the PACS centre and failing to distribute fertilizer in time.
Sources said that the road blockade led to traffic pile-up on the busy highway for some time.
The protesters relented following the intervention of local police and other officials.
