Police recover body of man in Dindigul, two arrested

Dindigul Taluk police on Tuesday recovered the headless body of a man in a coconut grove in Old Vakkampatti near Dindigul.

According to the police, Kennedy, the owner, came to the coconut grove in the morning to water the plants. He was shocked to see a headless body of a man lying in the garden. He immediately informed the Dindigul Taluka police.

The police team led by Inspector Balamurugan rushed to the spot with a sniffer dog. The police searched the area with the sniffer dog. The body was sent to Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital.

Following a preliminary inquiry, the deceased has been identified as one Sivakumar, 38, from Michaelpatti near Dindigul. It is said that he was released from prison after serving 12 years. He was also an accused in two murder cases. He was unmarried.

A team led by Superintendent of Police A. Pradeep visited the place and conducted an inquiry. After a long search, the head was recovered from the banks of Vaigai river. The police have arrested two persons in connection with the murder. The investigation is underway.
