A 48-year-old cab driver’s indecent act while ferrying a female DU student landed him in jail after the 22-year-old lodged a complaint, said the police on Wednesday. The cab has been seized, a police officer said.
Based on the complaint, police filed an FIR against the driver, Lom Shankar.
On Monday around 9 a.m., the postgraduate student had booked a cab from Model Town, as per the complaint. “The cab arrived, and he initially insisted that she sit at the front, alongside him. But the woman declined and sat at the back and later he started passing lewd comments and misbehaved with her,” the officer said, quoting the complaint lodged at the Maurice Nagar police station.
With the help of CCTV footage, the police found his residence in Malka Ganj and subsequently arrested him.
