Health Minister inspects site for children’s hospital in Guindy

Health Minister M. Subramanian inspected the space earmarked for a proposed hospital for children in Guindy here on Sunday. 

The higher superspeciality facility for children will be built within two years on the premises of Kings Institute of Preventive Medicine and Research in Guindy. The facility will come up at an estimated cost of ₹482.71 crore.

The facility would include ICUs, besides specialities such as gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology, orthopaedics, pulmonology, and cardiology among others. It will also house interventional radiology, cath lab, cath ICU, dialysis unit, and an endoscopy suite. 

Senior health officials, including the principal secretary B. Senthilkumar, were present.
