The Tambaram Corporation had initiated the construction of a collection well at Chitlapakkam lake to prevent sewage from flowing into the waterbody. The work, which began a year ago, had been progressing at a slow pace, and now, the half-complete work has abruptly been stopped. As a result, sewage has begun accumulating at the lake, where a pumping motor is yet to be installed and segregation is not happening.
Despite having been rejuvenated after a lot of effort by the Water Resources Department (WRD), the lake is slowly turning into a waterbody for sewage discharge. We request the Tambaram Corporation to complete the contruction of the collection well as soon as possible.Â

Broken stormwater drain at Iyyapanthangal
The stormwater drain at Iyyappanthangal panchayat is in a dilapidated condition. It is broken at several places, particularly along the arterial stretches of Oil Mill Road and Erikkarai Road, with garbage being dumped into it.Â
Despite residents highlighting this issue to the panchayat officials, the authorities, instead of renovating the drains, have installed some wooden boards as a quick fix.Â
