A training programme on safe school zone assessment and child road safety was conducted at the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) in Hyderabad, with 39 enforcement officials receiving hands-on training to strengthen safety measures around educational institutions.
The programme aimed at equipping Motor Vehicle Inspectors (MVIs), Assistant MVIs and personnel from the Traffic Training Institute with practical skills to assess and enhance safety conditions around schools. Organised by the Public Health Foundation of India-Institute of Public Health Sciences (PHFI-IPHS) in collaboration with UNICEF and the government of Telangana, the participants were trained in the use of structured assessment tools to evaluate safety parameters in school zones.
