The draft electoral roll was released after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process on Friday. A total of 8.12 lakh Absentee, Shifted, and Dead (ASD) voters were removed from the voter lists in Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri districts.
The draft electoral roll was released in the presence of recognised political parties’ representatives. As of the electoral roll at present, there are 26.68 lakh voters (13.30 lakh male and 13.37 female) in 11 Assembly constituencies in Salem district – 2.11 lakh in Gangavalli (SC), 2.20 lakh in Attur (SC), 2.63 lakh in Yercaud (ST), 2.85 lakh in Omalur, 2.45 lakh in Mettur, 2.67 lakh in Edappadi, 2.51 lakh in Sankari, 2.43 lakh in Salem West, 2.24 lakh in Salem North, 2.13 lakh in Salem South, and 2.40 lakh in Veerapandi Assembly constituencies.
In Salem district, a total of 3,62,429 ASD voters were removed from the voter list – 1,00,974 dead voters, 2.41 lakh voters shifted or absentee, and 20,171 double-entry voters. In Salem West, 64,951 ASD voters were removed, which is the highest in the district.
In Namakkal district, there are 12.72 lakh voters (6.17 lakh male and 6.55 lakh female) in six Assembly constituencies – 2.14 lakh in Rasipuram (SC), 2.21 lakh in Senthamangalam (ST), 2.27 lakh in Namakkal, 1.98 lakh in Paramathi Velur, 2 lakh in Tiruchengode, and 2.09 lakh in Kumarapalayam Assembly constituencies.
In Namakkal district, there are 1,93,706 ASD voters – 66,312 dead, 18,023 absentees, and 1,00,201 shifted. Kumarapalayam Assembly constituency has the highest number of ASD voters, 52,566, in Namakkal district.
In Dharmapuri district, there are 12.03 lakh voters (6.08 lakh male and 5.95 female) – 2.30 lakh in Palacode, 2.39 lakh voters in Pennagaram, 2.48 lakh voters in Dharmapuri, 2.47 lakh voters in Pappireddipatti and 2.37 lakh voters in the Harur (SC) Assembly constituency.
In Dharmapuri district, there are 81,515 ASD voters and Dharmapuri Assembly constituency has the highest number of ASD voters – 21,903.
In Krishnagiri district, there are 15.06 lakh voters (7.54 lakh male and 7.51 lakh female) – 2.28 lakh voters in Uthangarai (SC), 2.30 lakh voters in Bargur, 2.57 lakh voters in Krishnagiri, 2.36 lakh voters in Veppanahalli, 3.24 lakh in Hosur and 2.27 lakh in Thally Assembly constituencies.
In Krishnagiri district, there are 1.74 lakh ASD voters – 71,945 dead, 10,359 absentee, 81,426 permanently shifted, and 10,652 double-entry voters. The Hosur Assembly constituency has the highest number of ASD voters, 43,646, in Krishnagiri district.
