Indian Navy warship INS Trishul arrived in Toulon in France on Tuesday (September 22, 2026) to participate in the 24th edition of Varuna, the bilateral maritime exercise with the French Navy, officials said on Thursday.
According to Indian Navy, the exercise will comprise professional engagements both ashore and at sea, including cross-deck visits, operational interactions and sporting activities, aimed at enhancing interoperability and enabling the two navies to exchange operational experience and best practices.
The engagements are also expected to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between the Indian and French navies, it said.
The deployment of INS Trishul to France underscores the enduring maritime partnership between the two countries and the expanding scope of bilateral naval cooperation, the Navy said.
