Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh launched five new science magazines in regional languages — Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, and Assamese — on the occasion of the 85th Foundation Day of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on Saturday.
Published by CSIR-NIScPR, the initiative aims at making credible scientific knowledge accessible in regional mother tongues. It highlights home-grown innovations and regional scientific achievements. A key highlight is the integration of advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, to streamline translation processes from existing publications such as Vigyan Pragati, Science Reporter, and Science Ki Duniya.
Experts note that breaking linguistic barrier is crucial for fostering a deeper scientific temperament at the grassroots level. By delivering contemporary research in local idioms, the government hopes to inspire young students, researchers, and rural innovators across diverse linguistic demographics, driving home the message of inclusive scientific progress, a release here said.
