A woman died after she was allegedly assaulted by her husband during a quarrel while travelling in a car in Miyapur on Tuesday (December 23, 2025).
The deceased, identified as Vijayalakshmi, was married to the accused, Konchepu Raraju, for about 14 years and they had two sons.
The case came to light following a complaint by Vijayalakshmi’s relative stating that Raraju had developed an addiction to alcohol and other vices, leading to frequent disputes between the couple.
Police said that on Tuesday, at around 2 p.m., the couple were travelling in a car to visit a relative when an argument broke out between them again. During the quarrel, Raraju allegedly assaulted Vijayalakshmi, causing her to lose consciousness. Though she was immediately shifted to a private hospital in KPHB, the duty doctor declared her brought dead.
A case was booked by the Miyapur police and the body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination. Further investigation is underway.
