Bruke, the African hunting cheetah at the Mysuru zoo, passed away on December 27. He was six years and eight months old when he succumbed at around 1.30 a.m., with the cause of death attributed to meningitis.

Anusha, executive director of Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, said that Bruke had been refusing food for three days before his demise and through veterinarians administered treatment, he did not respond.

Bruke was acquired from Anne Van Dyke Cheetah Centre, South Africa, on August 17, 2020.
