Karnataka launches divisional drive to integrate TB and tobacco control programmes

Karnataka has launched a divisional-level initiative to integrate tuberculosis control and tobacco cessation services, bringing together two major public health programmes – the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) and the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP).

The State Tobacco Control Cell under the Health Department, in partnership with Vital Strategies, convened a divisional-level workshop in Bengaluru on Thursday (April 30) to operationalise the TB-Tobacco Integration Framework across the nine districts of Bengaluru Division and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). Around 80 public health officers and programme staff participated in the day-long workshop held in Bengaluru.
