Appointment letters handed over to 392 candidates at 18th Rozgar Mela in Visakhapatnam

Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma handed over appointment letters to 392 candidates from various departments during the 18th ‘Rozgar Mela’ held at Sagarmala Convention Centre in Visakhapatnam on Saturday (January 24, 2026).

The Minister described the 18th ‘Rozgar Mela’, being held across 45 locations including Visakhapatnam, as a revolutionary initiative by the Central government aimed at eradicating unemployment and providing extensive opportunities for the youth in the public sector. Since its inception, more than 11 lakh recruitment letters have been issued through this mela, he added.

Speaking as the chief guest at the event organised by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Mr. Varma stated that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to youth empowerment.

Taking a dig at the previous administrations, the Minister noted that recruitment processes used to be plagued by systemic delays. “In the past, the journey from a job notification to the actual issuance of an appointment letter would often span several years. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this trend has been completely reversed,” he said.

Mr. Varma further emphasised that the Central government has shifted its approach by treating recruitment not merely as an administrative task but as a ‘Mission Mode’ project. He asserted that the current system ensures transparency and speed, which has instilled a newfound confidence among millions of job seekers across the country.
