A man unsuccessfully handled childbirth at home when the baby boy died here on Saturday.
In an apparent refusal to take medical help, Nazir, 35, of Melapalayam allegedly assisted his wife Afna, 26, to deliver the baby at home. However, the baby died soon after delivery.
On getting information, the Melapalayam police have picked up Nazir for inquiry.
