BMTC shifts bus stops closer to Yellow Line metro stations to improve last-mile connectivity

After repeated complaints by commuters that bus stops are not near metro stations on the newly operational Yellow Line, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL), in coordination with the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), has finally shifted and added several bus stops closer to metro stations.

Metro services on the Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road–Delta Electronics Bommasandra corridor began on August 11, 2025. Following joint inspections by BMRCL and BMTC, bus stops have been relocated or newly provided to ensure smoother interchange between buses and metro services, improving commuter convenience, according to BMRCL officials.

New BMTC bus stops have been established near metro stations at Biocon Hebbagodi, Beratena Agrahara, Singasandra, Hongasandra, Central Silk Board, and R.V. Road. In addition, existing bus stops at Electronics City, Hosa Road, and Ragigudda have been shifted closer to the respective metro stations.

Officials said that at Jayadeva, BTM Layout, Bommanahalli, Kudlu Gate, and Infosys Foundation Konappana Agrahara, bus stops are already available within 100 metres of metro stations, ensuring easy access for passengers.

“However, relocation of bus stops at Huskur Road and Delta Electronics Bommasandra could not be undertaken due to space constraints,” official added.
