Razor blade manufacturers Vertice Global Private Limited of Hyderabad, on Wedenesday, donated Silver Max half blades worth ₹1.20 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), sufficient to meet the temple body’s requirement for an entire year.
The donation was formally handed over by the company’s director Sridhar Boddupalli to TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu at the latter’s camp office in Tirumala.
Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said that the TTD spends approximately ₹1.16 crore annually on blades for use at its Kalyanakatta and other tonsuring centres, and that the contribution would substantially ease the operational expenditure of the institution. Nearly 40,000 half blades are used regularly at various tonsuring centres by the TTD to facilitate the devotees offering hair as a vow, he added.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sridhar Boddupalli claimed that Vertice Global Private Limited was the first company in the world to introduce half blades that have a great demand across 52 countries. They are also the manufacturers of the internationally acclaimed 7 O’Clock blades, he added.
