The Centre has approved the construction of a 100-bed ESIC hospital at Raikunta village in Pedda Golkonda, Shamshabad mandal, with the Ministry of Labour & Employment clearing land acquisition worth ₹16.125 crore during the 197th ESIC meeting held last week, informed Union Minister of Coal & Mines G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday.
At present, there are over 1.32 lakh ESI-insured workers within the Ranga Reddy district. In accordance with the large-scale industrialisation taking place in and around the Hyderabad airport at Shamshabad and across the district, the number of workers is expected to increase in the coming days. Hence, it was decided to have a new hospital.
Mr. Reddy expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “accelerating the access to quality medical infrastructure” and also to Union Minister of Labour Mansukh Mandaviya. The ESIC super specialty hospital located at Sanathnagar is already providing corporate-level medical services to workers having ESI insurance. Apart from this, ESI hospitals are functioning at Nacharam, Ramachandrapuram, Sirpur Kagaznagar, and Warangal areas, said a press release.
