Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed senior officials to furnish information pertaining to the regular, contract and outsourcing employees working in their respective departments.

The Chief Minister set January 26 deadline for the departments to submit information on employees to Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao. The directions come in the light of the uncertainty over the exact number of employees working on regular as well as temporary basis in different departments, undertakings and allied institutions.

The development assumes significance following the October 25 deadline set by the Finance department to submit information about cadre strength in each department. The direction follows allegations that the BRS government resorted to irregularities in terms of number of contract and outsourcing employees working in different departments and agencies. It was alleged that huge amounts were diverted from the State exchequer in the name of payment of salaries/wages to temporary staff.

Accordingly, a memorandum was circulated to the departments asking them to upload the details of cadre working in the respective departments in the IFIMS (Integrated Financial Management and Information System). The departments concerned will not be permitted to take up the process of claiming salary/remuneration for this month in case of failure to upload the information on the portal, the circular warned.

Though several departments are learnt to have uploaded the details, there were still reports on the leftovers whose names were not included in the IFIMS portal. The matter was brought to the notice of the Chief Minister by senior officials headed by the Chief Secretary resulting in the imposition of deadline for uploading the details.

The Chief Minister wanted the Heads of Departments to verify whether the contract and outsourcing staff were receiving the benefits of PF and ESI and submit details before the Republic Day.

No govt. offices in private/rented premises

The Chief Minister was firm that there should be no scope for government offices, corporations and other allied agencies to work from private/rented premises as was reported in these columns a couple of days ago.
