The Coimbatore Corporation has collected ₹306.80 crore in property tax between April 1 and October 4, 2026, as part of its revenue mobilisation for the 2026-27 financial year.

The Corporation has 5,97,963 property tax assessments across its 100 wards in five zones. Property tax yields the civic body an annual revenue of ₹523.10 crore.

The Corporation’s intensified collection drive brought in ₹46.63 crore from 47,728 taxpayers in September alone. On September 30, ₹4.87 crore was collected from 4,915 taxpayers.

Digital channels accounted for ₹138.81 crore of the total property tax collection since April. Online payments constituted the bulk of this amount at ₹134.50 crore, followed by ₹3.86 crore through the Electronic Clearing Service (ECS), ₹44 lakh through the Corporation’s mobile application and ₹2 lakh through card transactions.

Online payments were made against 88,732 property tax assessments, accounting for 45.25% of the total collection. The balance of ₹163.13 crore was realised through cash, cheques and demand drafts.

The Corporation also reported collections of ₹17.30 crore in professional tax, ₹1.81 crore under non-tax revenue heads and ₹2.94 crore in vacant land tax from private and government establishments.

The civic body said occasional delays in online transactions had occurred when the tax-payment software came under heavy user load. Such instances were being referred to the Information Technology Wing for resolution.

Of the 38 complaints received in connection with online payments, 27 had been resolved. The remaining complaints would be taken up after the Corporation verified the corresponding bank credits.

Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja said an online complaint-monitoring mechanism had been put in place at all collection centres, with complaints being recorded and followed up until resolution.
