Coimbatore Corporation fixes commercial vacant land tax for private turf grounds

Private vacant plots used as commercial open-air sports grounds and turf facilities within the Coimbatore Corporation limits will be brought under commercial vacant land tax.

The tax has been fixed at ₹15 per sq. ft. in Zone A, ₹10 per sq. ft. in Zone B and ₹5 per sq. ft. in Zone C.

The Corporation has invited objections from the public, landowners, and the establishments concerned to the proposed levy. Objections may be submitted in writing to the Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) at the Corporation main office within 30 days of publication of the notice, during office hours on working days.

Objections received after the deadline will not be entertained, the Corporation added.
