Complaint filed against Royapuram MLA for cutting cake with sword

A complaint has been filed against the newly elected Royapuram MLA, K.V. Vijay Damu of the TVK, for cutting a cake with a sword on Wednesday. 

G.G. Siva, a social activist, submitted an online complaint to the Commissioner of Police, seeking action against Mr. Damu. He pointed out that similar incidents of cake-cutting in public places across the city had resulted in the arrest of several individuals. The MLA had cut a cake in a public place using a sword to celebrate his election victory, in the presence of TVK cadre including Loyola Mani. The video of the celebration went viral on social media.
