Consultative meeting on ‘My Place My Dream’ held in Tirunelveli

Educationists, entrepreneurs, experts from various fields, agriculturists and top government officials submitted their proposals on making Tirunelveli a well-developed district by 2030 under the ‘My Place My Dream’ initiative launched here on Wednesday.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Appavu said the ‘My Place My Dream’ initiative had been set in motion to solicit the proposals and novel strategies of experts from all walks of life and translate them into action to make the district a well-developed territory by 2030. Entrepreneurs, sportsmen, top officials of industries, doctors, educationists, teachers, students, researchers, owners of micro, small and medium enterprises, representatives of manufacturing units, agriculturists and senior officials of all government departments were participated in this consultation and submitted their proposals for making Tirunelveli a dream destination for investment and job and infrastructure creation.

“While the students coming out of every educational institution should be well-versed in spoken English, the university and the leading colleges should encourage researches. Besides moulding world-class sportsmen, entrepreneurs should be nurtured in the educational institutions by setting up special modules with experts. Agriculture being predominant profession of Tirunelveli, introduction of modern farming practices and equipment should be introduced here. Hence, we appeal to the participants to submit their proposals for creating ‘Vibrant Tirunelveli’ by 2030”, Mr. Appavu said.

The participants of this meeting also explained in detail about their proposals.

District Collector R. Sukumar, District Revenue Officer M. Durai, Palayamkottai MLA Abdul Wahab, Mayor G. Ramakrishnan and Deputy Mayor K.R. Raju were present.
